Not only are humans the ones who build structures and homes, but so are every other species. Animals of the animal kingdom need shelter and warmth to live and raise their families. Unsurprisingly, animals have created impressive structures to shelter them from the elements and protect them from predators.

Nests are a natural construction that brings out a feeling of warmth and comfort like none other. They are treetop homes made with such love and care by birds to take care of their babies.

Bianca Caroline Soares works as a Paraguayan conservation officer, so she is used to seeing nests of hummingbirds on trees in the wilds around her home. She was excited to discover something completely different on her walk last spring. She found a bird's nest with its roof!

The creative hummingbird mom used her surroundings to make her home more memorable and comfortable. She cleverly used a tree branch to build her house as a roof. This home was an ideal place to begin a happy, warm family.

Soares was impressed by this nest, unlike any other one she had ever seen. Soares said that she saw five nests of hummingbirds that day but that this one was her favorite.

Soares visited the nest several times over the next few weeks and discovered that the mom had two hummingbird children. The mom's kindness was a blessing for her tiny family. She can keep her children cool even in the hottest temperatures thanks to the shade of the leafy roof.

Soares stated that she hopes her mother's clever construction will inspire others to take better care and protect the environment. Let's help her by sharing the story with our friends and family!
