This is one of the saddest love stories that you are going to read today. Make sure to get some tissues because trust me you might need a lot of them. Meet our Prince Charming in today’s story, Chase Smith. He is 18 years old and has been battling cancer for six years. After battling strong and hard, the worst possible news struck him and his family. He received a terminal cancer diagnosis in which it stated that he was given only three to five months to live.
The only thing he valued more than his life was his girlfriend, Sadie Mills. He knew right away that they both needed to get married. The loving couple got married in their driveway in April surrounded by the people they loved. This is their love story.
Chase and Sadie’s Love Story
Chase Smith first saw Sadie in his time at swim meets. Sadie also happened to be a swimmer at the time. Chase immediately knew that he needed to talk to her, it was an indescribable feeling. They were quick enough to exchange phone numbers and began texting right after! This eventually led to their very first romantic date. After that, the rest is history. They haven’t gone more than a day or two without seeing each other since.
Impressed by his strong faith and maturity, Sadie was smitten.
The Tragic Diagnosis
It was after six years, Chase’s tumors returned this past March. It has only gotten worse, revealing more tumors, this time inside his skull. The diagnosis was grim! The doctors told Chase that he could possibly live for three to five months.
The Decision to Get Married
They describe the moment they decided to get married as a “God moment”, and made dinner plans with both of their families to discuss their wedding plans.
Their families were left in tears!
The driveway meant a lot to them as it was where Chase and Sadie shared their first kiss. Therefore, it also became the place where they got married. There was not a dry eye in the audience when Sadie came down the aisle, including Chase, who couldn’t hold back the tears. It is a Hallmark love-story, one of the purest love stories to exist!
A GoFundMe page has been created to help Chase with his ongoing battle with cancer. So far it has raised more than $98,000 of it’s $150,000 goal. To help support Chase, you can donate to the page as well as spread this story with the hashtag #chasestrong.
